Let

Your board of directors is putting aside (as best we can) the chaos and stress of political news for a
few weeks so we can plan for the next year or two. We will explore old and new and even wacko-
seeming ways we can carry out our overarching mission. As a quick reminder of that mission, we are
here to support :

  • The principles of the Democratic Party,

  • Democratic candidates up and down the ballot, and

  • Promote greater involvement of women in the party and public office.

We may do small projects (help staff HQ or a booth at a festival) or large ones (learning how our
county and municipal governments work; finding organizations to partner with).

It’s clear from our meetings in 2024 that our members and friends, and friends of friends are a rich
source of ideas and energy for how we, in large groups or small, can support our mission and each
other. Right now is when we need your ideas and your energy!
So, we most warmly invite you to join one of these Idea-Generating Events in January or February. No idea is too impractical or crazy. Bring ‘em all! We can sift and sort and then share the best ones for everyone’s consideration and vote.
So far, 4 members have volunteered to host an event at their homes.

They are:
Event 1 (off Brawley School Rd, Mooresville, about 3 miles west of Williamson Rd)
Date: Friday, January 31 Time: 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm

Event 2 (near the Mooresville golf course & new police station)
Date: Wednesday, February 5 Time: 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Event 3 (off Brawley School Rd, about a mile west of Williamson Rd.)
Date: Monday, February 10 Time: 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm

Event 4 (near downtown Mooresville)

PS: 2 more calendar notes:

1) NO first Tuesday general meeting in February;

2) We are all invited to meet with County Manager Beth Milton from noon to 1 pm on Tuesday, Feb 25. Ms Milton
is the professional administrator who oversees the day-to-day operations of county government on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners. This will be a great start to learning how our local government works.
